Let me begin this review by stating right off the bat that this is the single BEST and MOST INSPIRING daily devotional I have ever worked with, short of reading God's Holy Word (the bible) itself. Once again, as with his fictional books, this heartfelt journey through God's Holy Word over the course of one full year, author STEVE DEMAREE shines as brightly as ever with his very engaging and deeply moving writing style in each of these uplifting reflections. Beginning each day's reflection with a passage from one of several versions of the Bible, STEVE DEMAREE follows this with a personal reflection that further illuminates that day's Scripture text. Often drawing upon his own real-life/real-world experiences, STEVE DEMAREE's honest, inspiring, and straight-forward messages truly bring God's Holy Word alive and active for his readers. As a Christian myself (in my case, a Roman Catholic believer all my life), incorporating REFLECTING UPON GOD'S WORD into my everyday morning "quiet Time" with god is the perfect way to get each day off in a positive and meaningful way. It's very apparent from this phenomenally talented author's insightful and uplifting sharings in this wonderful devotional book that he truly lives his Christian faith each and every day of his life, and that he's truly "for real" as a believer and follower of Jesus. His reflections are at the same time practical, down-to-earth, uplifting, inspiring, and genuinely God-honoring. Good devotions with great message
I am very pleased with this book of daily devotionals. It is fresh,personal,positive,and encouraging. Each one is brief,making it easy to fit into everybody's daily schedule. I have favorites that I re-read often.
Steve Demaree's devotional book, 'Reflecting Upon God's Word', is written using Mr. Demaree's own experiences to explain the chosen Bible verse of the day. An easy to use companion to the 'Holy Bible'. By using his own experiences, Mr.Demaree helps one to think of their own similar experiences as they apply to the Bible verse. I highly recommend this book.
I bought this book for my at the end of last year and started the daily devotions on January 1. Immediately, I decided how thought-provoking these devotions are and how easy to read. They are not too long and start with a Bible verse, which the author expounds on, usually through a personal experience. The writing in interesting and each devotion has a life lesson for anyone who will take it to heart. A good devotion for everyone.
A well written thought provoking daily devotional in easy to understand language. Each devotional reading is short enough to fit in to the busiest schedule yet excellent at giving great insight. Written in a genuine heartfelt manner it doesn't feel like formal dry reading but as though a kind Sunday school teacher is sharing important life lessons from his walk with God and study of scripture.
